Minimum wage in Brazil

The minimum wage in Brazil has increased for the next three years. According to the government, the minimum wage will be $1,100 per month by January 2021. The adjustment was based on the government’s forecast of an increase in the National Consumer Price Index for January. However, the price index could go above the government’s forecast, which is why the minimum wage was readjusted this year. In addition, this minimum wage is lower than the amount proposed by the outgoing government’s budget for 2019.
